What is the year-end gift?

Year-end gifts are an old custom in Japan, and we give gifts to people who have taken care of us and relatives.
Gifts given in the summer are called midyear gifts, and gifts given toward the end of winter are called year-end gifts, but the younger generation has become less common these days.
