Mid-Autumn Moon

2018.09.24Culture & Seasons

Most people have heard of the Chinese custom of eating mooncakes during the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. Do you know what the Japanese custom is?

When we think of the Mid-Autumn Moon, we think of the moon (of course), silver grasses, rabbits, and tsukimi-dango (moon-viewing-rice-balls).

Rabbit manju (bean paste buns) are also very popular.

Customs may differ in different regions, but the appreciation for the beautiful round clear autumn moon is the same.
