Setsubun festival (the day before the beginning of spring)

2020.02.03Culture & Seasons

In Japan, the setsubun festival (the day before the beginning of spring) will be sprinkled with fried soybeans while saying “Ghosts go away! Blessings come in!”
The ghost in this sentence refers to bad things, and blessing refers to good things.
It is the Japanese custom of driving out the bad ones and bringing the good ones into the house.
