I worked hard and made it happen! Get a job in Japan

Together with the teachers
Alicia (France), who graduated from YIEA in March 2025 and got a job at a Japanese company, visited our school.
Q: What kind of work do you do?
Alicia: I’ll be working in construction management at a construction company. I was the only foreigner out of the 50 people who took the training.
Q: So, you’ll really be doing the same work as Japanese people! Was the training difficult?
Alicia: The training itself wasn’t that hard, but there were many differences between the Japanese we learned at school and the Japanese used at work, and that was difficult.
Q: Alicia, you were enrolled in a job support class at school, but what was it like actually looking for a job?
Alicia: What I learned in the job-hunting support class was very helpful. I don’t think I could have done it on my own, especially when it came to writing my resume.
Q: Please give some advice to international students who are thinking about finding work in Japan.
Alicia: The most important thing is to do your best. It’s more difficult for foreigners to find work in Japan than for Japanese people, but don’t give up no matter how many times you get rejected. If I could do it, you can do it too! And practice conversation skills. I practiced by myself every day using video sites, etc.
Thank you, Alicia, for answering our questions with your lovely smile! We look forward to seeing you!

I will continue to do my best!
