From YIEA to graduate school and then to a global company

The arrangement on the notebook is densely full
A graduate, Mr. Yu (from China), visited our school. Mr. Yu is currently a second-year student in the accounting specialty course at the Graduate School of Kwansei Gakuin University and is job hunting, but has already received job offers from several world-famous Japanese companies.
YIEA: Congratulations on getting the job offer! How is your job search going?
Yu: Thank you. I have received job offers from Nissan, Sony’s affiliates, and Hitachi’s affiliates, but I am still preparing for final interviews with several companies. Although job hunting is hard, it is easier than in China. In China, there are few job openings for new graduates and the competition is very fierce.
YIEA: What is the most difficult part of job hunting?
Yu: The most difficult part is time management. I started in the summer of my first year of graduate school. I took classes and participated in internships at 25 companies. I applied to 22 companies, so I was always busy. I would write down what I had to do every day in my notebook, using different colored pens to distinguish between different schedules such as classes and job hunting. Now, if I don’t have a day planned, I will feel uneasy. However, when I got the job offer, I really felt that my previous efforts were worth it.
YIEA: Please give some advice to YIEA students who are aiming to find a job in Japan.
Yu: In addition to studying, it is also important to participate in various experiences such as school activities. These activities can also play a role in the self-introduction when looking for a job.
Yu also said that after the job-hunting activities are over, he wants to travel abroad and continue to learn accounting knowledge in the United States. When you decide on the company you will eventually go to, remember to come back to school to take a look!
