Graduates are working in hospitals.
Graduate ISURU (Sri Lanka) visited YIEA for the first time in five years!
Q. What kind of work are you doing now?
A. I work as a nursing assistant at a general hospital in Tokyo.
Q. What kind of workplace is it?
A. Everyone around me is Japanese. It’s a big hospital, so there are more than 30 nurses, but we’ve become good friends. The doctors are all kind, too. By interacting with the patients every day, I’ve come to understand their feelings, and I enjoy my work every day.
Q. Why did you choose to work as a nursing assistant?
A. Actually, my twin sister in Sri Lanka is a nurse. I studied food in college and later worked for Nestlé. I think that experience is still very helpful now.
Q. What is it like to be a student at YIEA?
A. When I first entered school, I was at the beginner level. Now I can even read the Kanji characters used in the hospital. My Japanese has improved so much thanks to the teachers at YIEA!
ISURU wants to continue working at a hospital. She says she is still close with her classmates from YIEA.
