Thirteenth night

October 15th is the moon viewing day known as [Jusanya]. Among East Asian countries, this is a custom only found in Japan. On the 13th night of the lunar month, people eat sweets made with taro and chestnuts. Also, just like on the fifteenth night of the month, people eat rice dumplings, but the number of rice dumplings is different from on the fifteenth night of the month. The number of dumplings eaten on the 15th night was 15, but the number eaten on the 13th night was 13 or only 3.
