Won an award at the speech contest!

On January 24, 2025, Lakshan (Sri Lanka) from Advanced 2A participated in the 25th Language Student Speech Contest held at the Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall, and won the TVK (Television Kanagawa) Award.

Q: Please tell me how you are feeling now.

A: I’m very happy. I immediately called my parents in my country. I am truly grateful to Ms. Makiko Suzuki for her kind and enthusiastic guidance.

 

Q: Was there anything difficult about preparing to participate in the speech contest?

A: Yes. It was a bit difficult to practice my speech while studying at school and working a part-time job.

 

Q: What was good about participating in the speech contest?

A: A friend of mine who graduated from YIEA and entered YTC (Yokohama Techno Auto College) came to listen to the speech competition. He even took a video of me. I wasn’t expecting that my friends from other schools would listen to it, so I was happy to be able to participate.
